D5 "GIVE ME FIVE" — a creative movement for children and families

We do have a lower age limit — six. With the upper one it is harder. It seems there simply isn't one.

So D5 is a space from six to infinity: for children, teenagers, parents and generally for anyone who can still play, invent, wonder, laugh, try something new and sometimes treat very serious things entirely unseriously.

At the centre of D5 stands the theatre.

Through the season the children work on acting, stage speech, movement, music and improvisation, learn to work together as a group and create a performance together.

Everyone has their own pace and their own way of getting into the work. Some are ready to step on stage from the first meeting; others need time to look around, get to know the group, feel more confident and gradually find their place in the shared story.

Our groups are open to children with different needs, among them children who need additional support in development, communication and social interaction. That is why, before the classes begin, we meet the child and the family and work out together which format of participation suits them.

And the theatre is not where it ends. Through the season there will be:

⭐ master classes with specialists in theatre, music, movement, creative work, communication and child development

🎲 family game nights and club meetings

🎞 cinema, art, museums and performances

👪 meetings and creative events for parents and the whole family

Through the year we do not simply study — we work towards a result on stage. Each season holds two public performances.

But D5 is not only classes. It is a chance to do something together.

To invent. To play. To watch. To argue. To travel. To laugh. To create your own projects. To meet people worth knowing. Sometimes to be in the audience. Sometimes to take part. And sometimes to find yourself unexpectedly on stage. 😁

You can study in the theatre studio. You can join separate D5 events. Or you can — and this is what we like most — throw yourself into all of it at once. ✋

The programme is led by Elena Kohonover — actress, director, teacher and neuropsychologist. A graduate of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Theatre Arts and the International Institute of Psychology, she has worked for many years in theatre, educational and creative projects.
