For dancers with a solid foundation who want to refine technique, musicality, and performance quality. Primary focus — Latin; Standard appears sparingly only as short medley inserts to refine posture, lines, and body coordination.
Lesson format: 60 minutes. Flow: technical warm‑up (posture/center/balance), targeted drills (Cuban motion, foot articulation, pressure/weight, body action), turns and spotting, arm work and lady styling, dynamics/accents/contrast, learning and polishing a performance‑ready combo; finish with release and stretch.
Repertoire (Latin): Cha‑Cha‑Cha (tempi/syncopations, locks and spins), Rumba (walks, spirals, spot‑turns, leg lines), Samba (bounce action, travel, cardio‑friendly sections), Jive (clean kick‑action, rhythmic patterns). Standard — medley snippets only (adapted Waltz/Tango) with no progressive floor travel.
Goals & skills: stage presence, line projection, musical phrasing and breath, spatial use and diagonals, group quality (unison/canon/formations), preparation for mini‑showings/filming and participation in dance competitions and festivals (as desired and when ready).
Entry level: confident Latin basics (cha‑cha, rumba, samba, jive), understanding of axis/weight transfers, and readiness to work on detail. Level splits (upper‑beg/intermediate/advanced) as needed.
Health & safety: no acrobatics or high‑impact jumps; knee pads recommended for floorwork. Shoes — stable 5–7 cm heels or teaching heels/soft dance shoes; soft sneakers acceptable for training. Please inform us of any injuries.
What to bring: dance shoes, water, towel; optional knee pads/insoles. Flexible dress code that highlights lines (flared skirt/dress/leggings).
