At this stage, hip hop builds musicality, coordination, movement memory, stamina, and confidence. We focus on foundational grooves and bounce, simple isolations, age‑appropriate steps (two‑step, step‑touch, running man), beginner footwork, and short combos.
Lesson format: 45–55 minutes. Routine: welcome & rhythmic warm‑up (plus mobility), technique (isolations/steps), across‑the‑floor lines, learning a short combo, a playful block (freeze/cypher circle), and a cool‑down with stretching. Music is strictly family‑friendly.
Creativity & improvisation: we encourage personal variations and short improvs in a respectful hip hop circle.
Safety: closed‑toe sneakers with soft soles, comfy clothing, regular water/restroom breaks, no acrobatics or complex tricks; music volume stays comfortable. Optional knee pads for simple floorwork.
Parent involvement: in‑class presence is usually not needed; we hold open‑class showings/mini‑performances for families once per term.
Outcomes: stronger rhythm and body control, better choreography retention and spatial awareness, teamwork in pairs/small groups, and growing self‑confidence. Friendly performances may be offered — no elaborate costumes required.
